Candidate responses to, “What are your top priorities for the 2018 NAC?”, are below:

Aaron (Open Oakland)- Make it easy for Brigade members to participate with NAC. Brigades largely operate locally in their communities but we need the brigade network to work remotely and distributed in order to be effective.

Nina (Hack for LA)- Facilitate direct lines of communication between brigades, empower brigade leaders and members to share knowledge with each other to create a distributed network, not just a centralized one that relies on NAC/CFA.

Taylor (Code for Phoenix)- Mentor/mentee program, Working with government partners

Eric (Code for Asheville)- Communication in both directions. Brigades need to know what the NAC is doing. NAC also key to conveying information from brigade to brigade, with a strong focus on storytelling.

Jill (Code for Charlotte)- Knowledge Sharing and Communication are my top priorities. Creating a knowledge base to share best practices and advice will supercharge our community and having greater communication between brigades, and NAC are essential. NAC needs visibility, transparency, and to be able to communicate directly with brigades.

Jason (Code for Raleigh)- Collaboration between Brigades. I’d like to continue the work with the brigade action teams and foster non-coding projects across the national network

Carl (Open Savannah)- Visibility of NAC and consistency in communications. A brand identity to make NAC more visible. NAC listed on CfA website, needs space of its own. Everything Jill said.

Dawn (Code for Philly)- Creating better pathways for sustainability, tackling burn out, and creating value by institutionalizing civic tech leadership, creating more opportunities for leadership, and distributing work across more people in the network

Chris (Code for Philly)- Distribute information and keep everyone on the same page

Noel (BetaNYC)- Proper representation nationally and internationally, Brigade leadership academy

Jesse (Code for Boston)- Documentation of successful / unsuccessful brigade processes. Figuring out the relationship with CfAHQ.
