25 years+ challenge: Microsoft to… Apple; BASIC to C#, Swift & back to C

I mentioned it before, but let’s start by saying again that my first programs were written in BASIC. And (except for the very beginning itself, which for me was on a HC 91 computer at school) to run them on a PC I used GW-BASIC, a tool bundled with MS-DOS. I wasn’t aware more than 25 years ago that many of the following years would be governed for me by Microsoft Corp. — the author of that simple (yet so powerful) tool.
