ICP CC 2024 | Revealing the Galactic Airdrop!

• On May 10th, the ICP Community Conference will onboard thousands of users into the #ICP ecosystem, making it the biggest onboarding event for the ecosystem since the Genesis event (May 2021).
• To welcome new community members, we’re developing an Airdrop dApp that allows ICPCC livestream viewers to receive rewards by engaging with various brands and dApps within the ecosystem during ICPCC on May 10th, 2024.

On May 10th, 2024, the #ICP rocket is officially leaving for space. For that occasion, we are inviting all of you to take part in the Galactic Airdrop. Here is how it works and how you can get involved.

This article is designed for partners interested in sponsoring the airdrop. A separate article will be published for users looking to participate in the airdrop.

How It Works

Throughout our 9-hour livestream, airdrops will be conducted to award prizes to viewers.

Qualifications for each airdrop will require participants to enter valid codes in our dApp.

Codes will be found in different locations:

• By watching and following the live stream (directly on the screen)
• By interacting with #ICP apps and completing challenges across the ecosystem.
• By joining physical meetups — the list can be found here.

Requirements

To join as a partner for the airdrop, you must

• Be building a project on #ICP.
• Offer a package of assets (native token, NFTs) that is at least worth $1000.

Distribution of codes

As a partner — you should decide how you want the code to be distributed. You have 2 options.

Option 1 (Automatic)

You don’t want to deal with distributing codes?

I understand. Then, simply choose Option 1. We will handle the distribution of codes through our live stream. You simply have to send the rewards and we take care of all the rest.

Option 2 (Custom)

You would like to leverage the airdrop to educate about your project?

Great idea! For that, you’ll need to prepare challenges, quizzes, or missions that you want users to complete during the livestream. Before the livestream, we will send you a list of codes and you will have to handle the distribution of those codes manually. This option is perfect to deeply engage with the audience but keep in mind that this will require some preparation work on your end and coordination with us.

FAQ

How to ensure the safety of the dApp?

The source code for the airdrop dApp will be audited by our team and each partner can request access to the source code before the event.

How to ensure the fairness of the airdrop?

Based on the value of the price pool you offer for the airdrop each partner will be allocated a specific number of codes to distribute that is proportional to the total participation.

Are you doing anything to prevent bots, cheaters, and farmers?

Yes, we’re putting in safety checks and blocks. For example, if someone submits too many codes in a short time, it will trigger warnings and flags in our app. We can’t share every detail about these steps, for obvious reasons.

Are you doing anything to handle high traffic and potential disruptions?

Yes, we are actively implementing protective measures. For example, instead of allowing each raffle to initiate thousands of transactions across multiple canisters, we plan to internally allocate rewards and subsequently execute the transfers in batches at a later time

Since this airdrop is a work in progress and the timeline is coming close. We will publish weekly updates every Tuesday to inform the community on the progress of the dApp, potential changes, or new features.
