You can learn a lot from a scenario where people are not paying you for your product yet. This type of learning is not solely negative like many people fear.
Just because your product or service is not selling online does not mean that the experience is not valuable. If people are not buying your product or service, it could be because:
- Your product or service is not being marketed well (or at all?).
- The branding around what you’re selling isn’t correct.
- The energy you have for selling your product or service in person is not translating into a digital space.
- Your product or service does not have enough description around it.
- Your product or service is not priced appropriately for what people are willing to spend.
- Your product or service doesn’t actually hold the value that you think it does in its current state.
If you are serious about selling a product or service, it is important to discover if any of these things are affecting your business as soon as possible.
Don’t forget, feedback is a gift!
If you don’t learn these lessons now, you can get stuck in zombie mode. Zombie mode is where your product plateaus and doesn’t grow or improve, causing your business to limp along, leading you to just get by.
