Week 12/13 — Bye Geomaps

(week12 I was absent from labs and did not work on my assessment because of other subjects’ work)

I’ve given up on geo maps — it’s way too much trouble.

There are no resources online that have a simple map of Geelong. I tried Penny’s suggestion and used folium (a python module) but it was displaying a map of the whole world and not Geelong itself. Fed up with maps, I am ditching the idea.

Last week I made a bar graph displaying which suburb had the most pets:

That’s a lot of pets!

It’s quite an exponential graph! As part of my story, I’m going to find out why Lara (the suburb with 3800+ pets) has so many pets, and the other suburbs don’t. Could it even be false data? Maybe people wanted to believe they lived in Lara! Judging by Google Maps, it looks like a nice big suburb near the coast.
