So last week’s presentation went smoothly, our prototype were a step in the right direction, great to see progress. At this point we would like to further expand on our ideas since right now the Holograms are a bunch of randomly flying particle effects.

We’ve teamed up with the IoT group and are considering using data collected through an Arduino setup and feeding it back to the Hololens for visualization.

Hololens Hackathon

The Hololens Hackathon is a 48 hour long event where engineers, designers and programmers come and create proof of concepts for Hololens projects. One of the projects that caught my attention was controlling lights, specifically smart lightbubs with the Hololens. I thought it would be a cool idea if we could use the Hololens to control the IoT group’s LED installations. Another cool example is entering a certain area of the experience triggers a particle effect overlay, which could be very useful for our project since its split into different AR areas.
