another day, another meeting with the group for the pavilion design. This time around had a small group mainly consisting of the “exterior team”, so me Ed, Simon, Zac, Catherine, Emily, Saf, Sarah, Mark, Merk and Harris made it to uni and we had a lot of discussion with the floor plans. While working with Ed, we tested out a few of his designs on unreal just to get a sense of scale and heights for openings and general spatial feel.

There was a lot of discussion surrounding the floor plan for the pavilion. I really liked the design Zac put together using a triangular plan. I tried to see how the arrangement of this plan could be executed in a different way. Everybody started drawing ideas on the whiteboard and it ended up with a board full of interesting ideas

Just as we started to flow, we got kicked from the room and relocated downstairs. while in the middle of the migration, i managed to cook up a quick design using a boolean difference of geometric forms on an array of parallel planes. the main problem i had with the design was the separation and definition of the interior spaces. i can already think of ways to do it which i’ll add on later.

From this meeting, the group managed to develop some really interesting schemes that would make for some very interesting pavilions

Emily, Catherine’s Scheme
Simon’s scheme
