On Thursday the AR HoloLens team met up with the IoT group to try and generate a concrete idea to develop further over the Easter break. At first we discussed the different things we could execute and achieve between IoT and the HoloLens. Spit balling these ideas will help to come to one solid idea that will be cohesive as an experience and be a stronger end result.

IDEAS

HOLOLENS TO ARDUINO
Arduino outputs: LEDs, motor
- score board
- game interaction
- Control particular lights from HoloLens to real world
- Be able to control smart devices through arduino connection/control

ARDUINO TO HOLOLENS
Arduino inputs: motion sensors, heat sensors, pressure sensors

- direct interaction between arduino sensors and hologram triggers.
- create pressure points in the floor that enable manual triggers when teh user stands on a pressure point.
- proximity sensors using ultrasonic sensors. Detecting the distance of the user.
- physical buttons that are a direct way to communicate from arduino to the hololens

UPDATE

Another concern that the AR team had was that we have been so focused on getting AR connected with IoT that we have not been working on the over all hologram experience and narrative properly. Dominic has shown amazing progress in getting the Photon Particle transferring data to Unity and being able to use that data to control things in Unity. Due to this exciting success, I will try to develop the overall experience so that when the time comes we can put the IoT x AR abilities together with the HoloLens narrative/experience.
