Apple recently announced that it is going to host an event on October 13, with name “Hi, Speed”. This event, like WWDC 2020 and September’s “Time Flies” event, is also going to be online only presentation of products. Unlike their previous events where they invited people, mainly due to current COVID-19 epidemic.

1. iPhone 2020 line-up:

Expected iPhone 12 Line — Up

It is highly expected that Apple is going to unveil their 2020 line-up of iPhone’s, most probably iPhone 12. There are going to be 4 models in this year of iPhone’s line-up.

They are going to come in 5’4, 6’1 (Non-Pro), 6’1 (Pro) and 6’7 inches. They are going to be named iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max respectively with iPhone 12 being successor to iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Pro being successor to iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro max being successor to iPhone 11 Pro max with iPhone 12 Mini being a new model of iPhone line-up.

The Non-Pro models are expected to come in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variant. While Pro models are expected to come in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB variant. The RAM on these new iPhones is expected to be 4 or 6GB. All these new iPhones are expected to come with 5G technology, but mmWave technology is expected for only Pro models.

iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 will consist of 2 cameras (Normal wide-angle and Ultra-wide) while iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will consist of 3 cameras (Normal wide-angle, Ultra-wide and a Telephoto) along with a LiDAR sensor for depth sensing. Video capability is said to increase in slow-motion mode with support for 4k slow-motion videos at both 120fps and 240fps.An “Enhanced Night Mode” is also coming to new iPhones.

Powering the devices will be Apple’s in-house A14 Bionic Fusion chip which was unveiled with iPad Air 4 in Time Flies event which contains nearly double the amount of transistors than A13. 120 Hz display is also expected for Pro models only. All the new iPhones will have OLED screens.

The pricing of new models is expected to be (base models):

iPhone 12 Mini: $699
iPhone 12: $799
iPhone 12 Pro: $999
iPhone 12 Pro Max: $1099

2. HomePod:

The new home pod expected to be half of the original home pod in size

Apple first launched HomePod back in 2017, and since then it hasn’t received any drastic change in its appearance or it’s functionality.

A report, back in April claimed that Apple is working on a revised version of current HomePods to launch along with new iPhones which would be half the size of the original one but have same functionality.

3. Apple Silicon:

Back in WWDC 2020, Apple announced that they would be shifting to it’s custom Apple Silicon from Intel’s and the first Mac with new Apple chip inside will be launching by end of 2020.

Reports have claimed that the first Mac to include Apple Silicon will either be 12-inch MacBook or MacBook Pro.

4. Other Products:

While AirTag and AirPods Studio have been leaked, recent leaks have pointed towards delay in their launch. A recent leak has suggested that AirTag will be announced in March of 2021, however no new ETA is available on AirPods Studio.

JonProsser, one of the best leakers, has tweeted that there will be 2 variants of AirPods Studio, one being the “luxury” or “high quality” AirPods Studio which will be priced around $599 and another being a “sports-like variant”, that is made from a cheaper material, at around $350.

The End
