Hi guys! I hope that despite the current situation with coronavirus and COVID-19 you’re doing well 😷. In this short text, I would like to share with you a great app I started using to keep my notes, ideas, and planning and managing my IT projects.

However, I would like to point out that the application can be used for everything and in every field. So if you’re working remotely now or you want to better plan your day, write your ideas, inspirations, manage tasks, create to-do lists, etc. in a digital way — I expect you can like it as much as I do.

My story

I’m working as a programmer and it’s not only my job but also a hobby and passion. So I have very often something in view — a new project, app and recently I’ve even started thinking about creating a game. I’ve had a problem for a long time — where I should keep all my ideas, notes, inspirations, tasks and how to manage them. For the last several months I’ve had some projects described in Google docs, others managed in Trello, GitLab, Asana etc. Sometimes one project was in more than one place.

I started to look for an app/service which will give me a chance to keep everything in one place. And in the last 3 months, I tested about 10. There is a lot of great apps to manage your tasks (especially in Kanban-related mode) but generally, they only serve this purpose or they were nice and with more features but were too expensive for personal use. Finally, my friend told me about Notion — the app I didn’t find on Google during my research.

Why did I fall in love in Notion?

To be honest, it wasn’t love at first sight. In the beginning, I had the impression that there are too many options and the interface is not very comfortable. But after a while, I gave Notion one more chance. I just started using it, importing my notes, projects and after a few hours, I felt that this was exactly what I’d looked for.

Even if I create a short note, I like it to look nice. I pay attention to details. In Notion, you have everything necessary to conveniently format text, create headers, add photos, icons, cover image, embed external resources — everything is (despite the first, wrong impression) very user-friendly.

Templates everywhere

One of the biggest advantages is that authors have prepared a lot of ready-to-use templates for various fields and types of content. It’s almost certain that you’ll find something ready that will speed up your start with the app. Let’s look at some examples:

Just try for FREE

As is many such applications Notion is available in a free plan, but with some (but no time) limitations. However, these restrictions allow you to use the application privately and above all to get acquainted with it. A personal plan with no limits is also very affordable — $5 per month (or $4 if you choose annual payment). In addition, for example for downloading a mobile app (for me it was the first and obvious thing) you can get a few credits to start. Finally, you can also register your account from my link (just click here) and you will get $10 credit (and yes, it’ll give me $5 credit, but I hope it’s a good and honest deal 😎, isn’t it?).
