Three steps for creating a CodeChain Wallet.

1. Access the wallet homepage
2. Specify your username and password
3. Record and check your backup text.

1. Access the wallet webpage

CodeChain Wallet Homepage

Go to https://wallet.codechain.io/ and click on the “Yes, I want to create a new wallet” button.

2. Specify your username and password

Enter your username and password and press the OK button.

3. Record and check your backup phrase

Once you enter your username and password, 12 words will be given as your backup phrase. Those 12 words are a list of words that are absolutely necessary to log in via a new computer or browser. Please make sure you properly record it, including the order of the words.

When you have confirmed and properly recorded the backup phrase, it concludes the account creation process and your wallet is created.

After creating a wallet, you will be able to log in to your wallet with only your password if you are using the same computer and browser.

If you use either different computer or browser to log in, you are to type 12 words in order to use the same wallet you created before.

Classification of CodeChain Tokens

When you log in to your newly created wallet, you will see that two types of addresses are created. This is because there are two different types of tokens.

One is the asset token which are issued on top of the CodeChain network and the other is CCC, the CodeChain protocol token.

First, the digital asset address at the top is where you can transfer asset tokens. Asset tokens are basically asset-backed digital tokens or security tokens issued by companies that are in the business of tokenizing real-world assets.

The CCC address is for storing CodeChainCoin, the protocol native currency, and it is used to pay for the transaction fees.

Today we looked into creating CodeChain wallets and the two kinds of addresses. Next time, we’ll show you how to issue and transfer asset tokens as well as to charge CCC!
