Every year, as we prepare for summer we look to bring in a fellow and this year is no exception. As a small team Code.gov loves to bring in new fellows to inspire new ideas and inject new energy into our small but mighty program. We’ve had some amazing fellows in the past and we expect no different from our newest fellow Anna Zhang who is set to join us this summer.

Anna Zhang is a first-year student at Yale studying Computing and the Arts. She is a renaissance woman, and has long been interested in exploring the intersection between art, technology, and social impact.

As a photographer, she has been published in magazines like Glamour and Porter and has created digital content for brands like Keds and Fujifilm. She also founded Pulse Spikes, a magazine made by youth, for youth focusing on entertainment, entrepreneurship, and activism.

On the tech side, she launched a mobile game called Brightlove in collaboration with Google Play. Fascinated by emerging technologies, over the past few years, Anna has researched and developed artificial intelligence and IoT-based solutions to address issues such as texting and driving and the daily challenges of living with Alzheimer’s.

Anna is excited to join the Code.gov team as a Coding it Forward Civic Digital Fellow this summer to work on projects that will empower the coding community. We look forward to her joining the team!
