How to Create a Free VPN
Create your own VPN in AWS for absolutely free of cost.
What do you need?
You just need a free-tier AWS cloud account to set up a VPN server for free. If you don’t have it, you can create it right now from here AWS Free Tire. If you are creating the AWS account now, make sure that you create a user inside the AWS and use that user account for all your operations and keep the root credentials safe.
How to do?
Login to your AWS user and go to Dashboard > Services > Computing and then choose Elastic Cloud Computing aka. EC2 is nothing but a virtual computer in the cloud.
Steps to be followed:
- If you have some regional specifications in which you want to host your VPN server, this is the time when you need to select your region from the top right corner of the AWS console. (For the demo, I’m in a different country but I want to host my VPN server in India, so I chose the Mumbai region)
- Click on the Launch Instance button to create a new EC2 instance.
