Microsoft’s unveiling of Windows 11 explains a lot of the company’s recent progress, polishing features and refining the overall user experience. Terry Myerson, the executive vice president of Microsoft’s Windows group, said that there’s no one working on a Windows 11, also declared while Windows 10 was unveiled in 2015. As Windows 10 is an “OS as a service,” updates have been rolling out for years, along with the regular security patches. Most people viewed Windows 10 as the final version of Windows and expected it to be updated indefinitely. Microsoft has finally introduced what it refers to as “the next generation of Windows,” following what seems to be an eternity of waiting. Windows 11, which is supposed to launch in 2021, is a significant upgrade. It represents a significant shift in how Microsoft distributes Windows, as well as a considerable UX makeover. It also receives new Android app compatibility, a new Store, and a lot more.
