Since 2014 Coderstrust has educated people in Digital and Soft Skills, giving their students an edge in the road to financial freedom through online freelancing. The future of the job market will be about specific digital skills and Coderstrust has the track record to make an impact in the Global South, providing the necessary digital and soft skills courses to ensure that young people can build financial independence for themselves and their families.

JBO Invest and the Danish Growth fund (Vækstfonden) recognize this importance and have provided a loan to Coderstrust to continue their work on an international scale.

Thus far, Coderstrust has educated over 14,000 students. Since the launch of our online Academy (http://academy.coderstrust.com) in March 2020, 8,000 new students have signed up to learn digital and soft skills.

Mads Galsgaard, CEO of Coderstrust said, “We’re honoured to have received the funding to scale up educating those who are most in need. Now, more than ever, online education and remote work is a crucial aspect of the global economy and workforce.”

The majority shareholder of Coderstrust is Acini Capital from Norway, a leading impact investor with a focus on education and employability, particularly for young women in the global South. Acini Capital is also the founder of www.2xe.org for vocational training in Kenya.

Carsten Hjelde, Acini Capital founder said, “We have invested in Coderstrust since 2017 and have continuously seen the improvements and progress of the company. We are very thankful that JBO Invest and VækstFonden acknowledge, and support the good work. This will allow Coderstrust to scale, and train even more people to financial independence, no matter where they are born.”

The new round of investment funding came from JBO Invest Holding and VækstFonden. The fund works in close collaboration with banks, domestic and international private investors to discover and develop the companies that Denmark cannot afford to miss out on. The power of innovation, yield to society and responsibility are the three signposts that guide Vækstfonden in finding and choosing new projects.

CEO of JBO Invest Holding, Jørgen Balle Olesen is the founder of Saxo.com (sold in 2019), and now an experienced Angel Investor with a demonstrated history of working in the internet industry. JBO is focusing on impact investment primarily related to SDG4 — quality education. Jørgen Balle Olesen of JBO Invest Holding ApS said, “Coderstrust focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to provide quality education, economic growth, and reduced inequalities in an innovative way using the power of digitization. It’s a company that I believe in and look forward to seeing grow and succeed.”
