Hello Medium authors!

Chances are a good number of you reading this either manage your own blogs on the side or utilize Medium as your dedicated platform. Nevertheless, I’m here to guide you through an effective marketing funnel that you can implement within your blogs to give your business a powerful push, starting right now. This method has proven its worth for countless companies out there, making it a tried-and-true approach.

The Marketing Funnel has 3 Key phases:

1. Getting Attention (TOFU — Generating Awareness):

Just like catching fish in a big net, you want to catch the attention of many people. Here’s what you can do:

  • Write Great Stories: Make your blogs interesting and fun to read. Write stuff that makes people want to read more and more.
  • Be Yourself: Don’t sound like a salesperson. Be friendly and real so people feel a connection to you.
  • Use Social Media: Share your blogs on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and other places. Get people excited to visit your blog.
  • Guide Readers: Use social media to lead people to your blog. Make them curious to learn more.

2. Building Relationships (MOFU — Nurturing Consideration):

Once you have people interested, it’s time to get to know them better and make them your fans. Here’s how:

  • Sort Your Readers: People are different, and they like different things. Write for different groups of people based on what they like.
  • Teach About Your Funnel: Tell your readers about the three steps of your journey. Show them why it’s great for them.
  • Make Friends with Emails: Offer something special, like a cool book, to get their email. This lets you send them interesting stuff later.
  • Share Little by Little: Send emails every now and then with cool stuff. Don’t rush, give them time to learn more about you.

3. Turning Fans into Customers (BOFU — Achieving Conversion):

When your fans love what you do, it’s time to offer them something they can buy. Here’s how to do it right:

  • Match Your Stuff: Sell things that make sense with what you write about. If you write about cooking, sell cooking tools, for example.
  • Send Cool Emails: Tell your fans about your products in emails. But don’t send too many — that’s annoying!
  • Use Your Fans’ Emails Wisely: Since they like you, they’ll read your emails. Keep your emails healthy by not bothering them too much.
  • Take Care of Customers: If people buy from you, make sure they’re happy. If they have questions or problems, help them out.

Making Fans for Life (Earning Loyalty):

  • Be Nice to Customers: Always make your customers happy. If they need help, be quick to assist. One bad thing can spoil everything.
  • Keep Them Interested: Keep your readers engaged. Make new stuff and change prices sometimes. Give them points for being loyal customers.
  • Get Friends Involved: Let your happy customers tell their friends. Make it easy for them to bring new people to your blog.

As you work hard to make your blog special, remember that each step of the Marketing Funnel is a chance to connect with people and turn them into fans.

If you go through these steps wisely, your blog can become really successful. Keep your readers happy, and use smart ways to engage with them. This will help your blog become even better over time. As you start this exciting journey, I hope these ideas help you reach amazing goals.

Cheers to your blog’s lasting success!
