CODE Launches ‘Search VASP by TXID’ Feature

We are excited to introduce a new feature for our Travel Rule solution, CODE: ‘Find VASP by TXID.’ This feature has been added to comply with the upcoming ‘Virtual Asset User Protection Act (Act №19563),’ effective this July, and to support Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) facing challenges such as the Sunrise Issue.

This update is part of CODE’s continuous efforts to enhance user convenience while ensuring regulatory compliance within the VASP ecosystem. For example, if virtual assets are received without Travel Rule data due to user error or differences in international regulations, Korean VASPs are obligated to verify the sender or return the assets. With CODE’s new functionality, VASPs can process these asset transactions in full compliance with regulations, rather than returning them.

This feature reduces the operational burden on VASPs handling customer inquiries and provides users with a smoother experience. Here’s how the new feature works:

1. The receiving VASP sends the TXID to CODE and requests sending VASP lookup.
2. CODE provides the receiving VASP with the sending VASP information based on the TXID.
3. The receiving VASP and the sending VASP exchange Travel Rule data and both parties store the data.

This method allows CODE to address the previous limitation, ensuring compliance with the Travel Rule before executing blockchain transactions. Now, compliance can be ensured even after the transaction is completed.

트래블룰 솔루션 코드(CODE)의 신기능 ‘TXID로 VASP 찾기’를 소개합니다! 다가오는 7월 시행될 ‘가상자산 이용자 보호법(법률 제19563호)’을 준수하고, 선라이즈 이슈 등으로 혼선을 겪는 가상자산 서비스 제공자(VASP)들을 지원하기 위해 트래블룰 솔루션 CODE에 새로운 기능인 ‘TXID로 VASP 찾기’가 추가되었습니다.

이번 업데이트는 VASP 생태계 내에서 규제를 준수하면서 사용자 편의를 강화하려는 CODE의 지속적인 노력의 일환입니다. 예를 들어, 사용자의 실수나 국가 간 규제 차이로 인해 트래블룰 데이터 없이 가상자산이 입고될 경우, 한국의 VASP들은 송신처를 확인하거나 자산을 반환해야 하는 의무를 지니게 됩니다. 이때 CODE의 신규 기능을 활용하면 가상자산을 반환하는 대신 규제를 완벽하게 준수하면서 입고 처리를 진행할 수 있습니다.

이 기능은 고객 문의에 대한 VASP의 운영 부담을 줄여줄 뿐만 아니라, 사용자에게도 더 매끄러운 UX를 제공합니다. 신규 기능의 작동 방법은 다음과 같습니다:

1. 수신 VASP가 코드에게 TXID를 전달하고 송신처 조회를 요청합니다.
2. 수신 VASP가 코드에게 1번에 대한 결과를 요청하여 송신 VASP 정보를 확보합니다.
3. 수신 VASP와 송신 VASP가 서로 트래블룰 데이터를 주고받으며, 양측이 데이터를 저장합니다.

이와 같은 방법을 통해 코드는 블록체인 상 트랜잭션이 실행되기 전에 트래블룰 준수를 선행해야 했던 기존의 한계에서 벗어나, 트랜잭션이 실제로 발생한 이후에도 규제 준수를 할 수 있는 확장적인 방안을 제공합니다.

코드는 가상 자산 규제 강화가 VASP들의 활동을 제한하는 장애물이 되지 않도록 적극적인 지원과 기능 개발에 앞장서고 있습니다.
