A Layman’s Review Of The M2 MacBook Air For Everyday Users

Let’s not bore anyone with the tech stuff, but focus on the day-to-day. Does the M2 Air deliver?

Can you believe it’s 2022, and we’re already on the 2nd iteration of Apple Silicon? If you think about it, it’s pretty mind-blowing. While I know, Apple hasn’t quite stayed true to its promise of fully transitioning in just two years its entire lineup of Macs, you have to consider a pandemic, the repercussions of said pandemic and now the bloody — literally — war that Russia waged against Ukraine. None of that helped, and even so, we are holding 2nd generation Apple Silicon computers in our hands. Kudos to the world and Apple for being resilient.

Before jumping into everything the M2 Air is and isn’t, I feel I need to go back a minute to the M1 and state something for the record. Everyone who had doubts about the M1, Apple Silicon, saying they’d never go anywhere near a first generation product, they were all horribly wrong. I would agree that 1st generation tech is often passable at best, but Apple’s M1 was never a 1st generation SOC. The M1 is the love-child of all previous A-series processors Apple has proven out for a decade in their iPhones and iPads. Why do I feel the need to highlight this?
