A programming related article? From me? What happened?!

Usually I put this sort of thing in Obsidian, but today I thought I’d share my out of hours fun and games to give an insight into what a progressive software engineer does in their spare time — and, more importantly, how when I try to write a programming related article it usually turns into one big complaint about the modern dystopia that is the Grand Game.

Buckle up.

Disclaimer #1: If you’re a Python fan, try not to get too upset, I’ve tagged this with humor(sic) for a reason. It’s ok, I’ve heard that some data scientists can even write for loops these days and a few have even written code outside of a notebook¹.

Disclaimer #2: Although this was intended as a proper article about doing something useful in the Grand Game of Software Engineering, it quickly degenerated into take cheap shots at Python. I have to say it was as much fun writing those as it was writing the actual code I pasted in here too.

If you’re like me and not exactly a fan of those peripheral languages, those often interpreted or badly typed excuses for languages, that many cosplaying software engineers…
