Undoubtedly the most significant change to the new iPhone 14 Pro (Max) is the arrival of Dynamic Island, as Apple calls it. This specifically replaces the classic cutout that’s still part of the traditional iPhone 14 (Plus) and, of course, older models.

The Dynamic Island cutout looks elegant indeed, and Apple has once again shown the world how much it can think about the details of its products and bring them to absolute perfection. While on Android, this type of pill-punch would be completely uninteresting, Apple has made it an interactive feature that is incredibly sexy, and everyone will love it. The dynamic islet has thus become an integral part of iPhones.

Innovative direction

It has defined the direction that at least the front of Apple’s phones will take in the next few years — probably until Apple manages to hide the front-facing camera and all the Face ID components under the display. The dynamic island can expand and stretch from its classic form in various ways, depending on what’s displayed. You can view a gallery of all the currently available records of the Dynamic Isle below.

Examples of usage

Specifically, this can, for example, be zoomed in on an incoming call, making the interface for accepting or rejecting it appear at a glance. Furthermore, the dynamic island can, for example, expand when you have navigation running, where it will display navigation instructions.

It will also stretch when you use the stopwatch, where the time will be displayed within the dynamic island, and it will also stretch if you want to authenticate with Face ID. There are many actions and options that the dynamic island will be part of.

We’ll have to wait for sales to start when the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) reaches my office to find out absolutely everything it can do. Apple will gradually improve the functionality of the projectile. At the same time, it will be fascinating to see how they manage to incorporate it into third-party apps.
