Analytics Hub will become BigQuery Sharing
Google just announced that Analytics Hub has been renamed BigQuery sharing. You’ll see this new name in the documentation set and the marketing collateral. The product functionality and endpoints remain the same[1].
BigQuery Sharing — former Analytics Hub — is a service in BigQuery that lets you create secure data exchanges and share analytics assets within and across organizations. This platform allows data providers to publish listings that reference shared datasets. Analytics Hub subscribers can then view and subscribe to these listings[2].
Key features[2]
- Exchanges: Create private or public data exchanges to organize and distribute datasets.
- Listings: Provide rich metadata, descriptions, and contact info for each dataset offering.
- Linked Datasets: When someone subscribes to a listing, BigQuery creates a linked dataset in their project — no copying required.
- Secure Access: Sharing is governed with fine-grained IAM roles, ensuring data stays protected.
Why Use It?[2][3]
