SAP is often used within companies for HR, ERP and Financial processes and therefore hosts a lot of interesting data which can be analyzed — now Google eases Data Analysis of SAP data with BigQuery with a new Connector[1].

Already before there was the possibility of analyzing SAP data within Google Data Warehouse BigQuery but often this needed data integration from SAP to BigQuery. Read more about it in the linked article below:

Regarding the use case and how much data cleaning and transformations your data needs this could be still the best way to analyze data within BigQuery but if your use cases needs the SAP data stay where it is due to regulations this new approach, which follows the trend of Zero-ETL and cross cloud analytics, it could be a good solution.
