Google Storytime: My First Interview

I joined Google in 2007. Although Google had a small office in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland, my wife and I both decided that it’s best to work at headquarters in Mountain View, California. Wouldn’t you want to work at Redmond HQ for Microsoft, or Seattle HQ for Amazon? We also thought it would be good to raise the kids in California.

Our second son was born in Kirkland on March 1, 2007, and by April 9, 2007, we moved down to Santa Clara so I can begin working at Google HQ as a Noogler. New baby, new house, new city, new job. I’m fairly comfortable with change, but
