Priest or Tech-Priest? It makes no matter. They all have their parts to play, whether it’s the eleventh or twenty-first century.

It’s during my early morning (non-commuting I may add) walk¹ that article ideas slowly coalesce, float upward, and eventually burst forth from the ocean of stressful software related worries and up into the refreshing yet limited air of my scant non work related mind.

These can consist of anything from observations on the bizarre nature of everyday life, the cognitive dissonance inherent in modern corporate culture of the Grand Game, to how we seem to be constantly repeating the same mistakes of the past over and over again.

I think that’s why I prefer to listen to audio books containing historical biographies or “fun” philosophical texts² as I’m walking in the howling wind and pouring rain that is typical of my own locale.

It’s a bit like how running in the rain gives you the feeling of being a far more bad ass runner than you actually are, such that listening to philosophy on an exposed coastal path with an Atlantic force 9 gale makes you feel that bit more mentally adept and be someone who is far more able to “connect the dots” (to borrow a conspiratorial phrase that’s very overused).
