Do you still use Java 8? You should upgrade as soon as possible.
I’ve also used Java 8 until one day my client decided to move a monolith to Java 11.
The upgrade took us months to complete. First, I was not too fond of it. Until we got the benefits of new Java.
Later on, I moved to another company where we use Java 17. And I would never start a project in Java 8 or move to one where that’s used.
But is new Java worth it? What’s the benefit of moving away from Java 8? How to explain your employer that this is the way to go?
