A professional layout makes professional games

The Unity Editor is your main workspace, layouts define how things will be organized within it and will ease(or detriment) how accessible its features are. It is recommended to tailor your editor to the best of your personal convenience or the type of project you are working on. Today I will be showing you one of the most productive layouts.

  1. Start by selecting the Tall layout

2. Drag the Game view and dock it below the Scene, make sure you drag the Game window up to match the height of your Project section.

3. Drag the console window, then dock it beside the Game view.

4. Save the new layout with any name of your choosing.

The modifications added help you actively view how the changes made in your scene reflect in the Game view. This will not only save you time going back and forth between the two, but it will also ensure that everything you do in the scene is sensible in perspective to your game.
