Nowadays most video games are made using game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine. Game engines are software that provides essential tools and frameworks to develop and build the game across different platforms. That means you don't need to write different codes for different platforms such as Android, IOS, PS5, etc. You can write a single codebase for multiple platforms. We call it platform-independent.
Do you need math skills for game development?
Yes, At least a little bit. It will make the tasks easier, a lot. Terms like Calculus, Vectors, Linear Algebra, and Probability are commonly used in modern games. Trigonometry and Eucledien math are used in most games. Every game might use Delta-time, Scales and Units, Matrices, Dot and Cross products to calculate different aspects of games.
Skills required to make an indie game
Indie games or Independent games are games developed by an individual or a small group of developers. An indie game dev requires skills like Digital painting, Color Theory, Digital Marketing, Discreet Mathematics, Fundamentals of Computer Science, AI and Machine learning, Cloud computing, and a little bit of Cinematography, Storytelling, and Emotional psychology. Game developers are curious people who are constantly pushing the limits. Making a visually pleasing game without losing performance requires a lot of deep thinking and innovative ideas. Moreover, telling the story to the player. Games are so addictive, right?
Is it easy to make a video game?

As technology advances, we will see games become a completely immersive experience. Technologies like AR, VR, XR, and MR will open a whole world of opportunities. These days, gaming is becoming a profession. Global gaming industry revenues are expected to exceed $320 billion by 2026. Gaming is a better choice for business and investing with an evergrowing profit.
