Our computers are idiot savants

and our brains are not computers.

Our meat can think. It is an understatement to say that’s quite remarkable. We can’t seem to escape the feeling that it demands an explanation even though in all the ways that really matter we are hardly any closer to one now than we were around 2500 years ago when the first written records of our philosophical musings appeared on the scene.
