and welcome back to the Monday #TechWatchbySeb ☕️. This week we will travel across Norway 🇳🇴, France 🇫🇷 and Ireland 🇮🇪 after sharing insights onto the place of semiConductors in the economy.

When starting this newsletter some months ago, I wanted to gather content on the most interesting events happening in the European tech ecosystem. While writing, I was also expecting to better identify the hot topics, the most incredible technologies, and getting closer to what VCs are looking for. But there is one topic, that I wasn’t expecting at all to see coming back in the top news: semiconductors.

After reading another interesting article: It’s US vs. China in race to build chip technology of tomorrow I decided it was time to do some research to understand what’s going on there.

With an Industry generating around $37Bn of Sales, its the 3rd largest in Europe we can feel the importance of this Industry for the European Union who also stated:

Europe has all it takes to diversify and reduce critical dependencies, while remaining open. We will therefore need to set ambitious plans, from design of chips to advanced manufacturing progressing…
