I am writing this post to share the important mathematical concepts that Bitcoin uses for cryptography.

Let’s start with the first one!

Elliptic Curves

We are all familiar with the linear equation:

y = mx + b

Linear Equation

Similarly, an elliptic curve is defined as:

y^2 = x^3 + ax + b
