Often, it happens that external e.g. other companies or authorities need access to your (Big) Data. Here, Microsoft provides its Azure Cloud users with a handy tool.
Imagine you have integrated your data in a Data Warehouse, Lake or even a combination as a Data Lakehouse. Often, it is your single source of truth and the data is cleaned and already in shape.
You don’t want to release data transfers from the source system via API. Firstly, because it is an effort and secondly, security gaps can always arise or slow down the performance of the source system. Organizations are accountable for the data they share, and it must be attributable to the organization. In addition to ensuring accountability, many organizations also want to be able to easily control, manage and monitor all of their data sharing.
