Since the iPhone 11, Apple has given us two families of iPhone: the regular iPhone and the iPhone Pro. The regular iPhone is the base model, ideal for the average Joe. The Pro is targeted toward those who are more likely to use their devices for professional content creation tasks.

This year we have the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The regular 14 and 14 Plus are intended for people who just need good, reliable phones but don’t care as much about camera quality or extra lenses, high refresh rate screens, and so on. The Pro line, however, is aimed at a different demographic.

Let’s take a look at what’s unique to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max and then consider whether or not these features are enough to consider these models more “Pro” than their regular counterparts.

Higher screen refresh rate

When I upgraded to my iPhone 13 Pro Max from an iPhone 11 Pro Max, one of the first things I noticed and appreciated was the higher refresh rate display on the 13. The display on the 11 Pro Max was good but unfortunately limited to 60Hz.
