How to Add a Local Folder to Your iPhone or iPad

iPhone or iPad lovers have a problem that they couldn’t access the local files. I am also an iPhone user. I am also worried about the statement that the iPhone user can’t use their mobile like Android mobile users. In Android, we can access local files directly. Last week I found a solution. This is my 15th article in Medium.

Apple user can add many files in iCloud storage as they want but for an account, Apple gives only 5 Gb storage. If you want to increase your iCloud storage capacity you have to pay. If you want to access the iCloud, you need internet connection also. Therefore this is very convenient to iPhone / iPad users.

But if you open up the Files app in your iPhone / iPad, and take a look at the list on the left, you’ll see a section called Locations. This is where your iCloud Drive lives (as well as your Dropbox and Google drive, if you added it). You’ll also find other apps on this list. Those are apps that provide their own shared storage space on your iPad, and it’s completely local.

Readdle’s Document App add it’s own storage area in Files app and it acts as a Local Folder in your iPhone or iPad. You can save files to Documents’ storage area from any app that can save to the Files app. all files, what you save in document App can be also browsed from inside the document app itself. Open it up, and you’ll see all your files inside the app. You can zip and unzip them, copy them and read them. Plus, if you’ve dropped photos, videos or music into the folder, you can view those right there in the app. If you delete this app, the files which were in the document app will be deleted.

Open up the Files app. Then tap Edit at the top of the left sidebar. You’ll see a list of available “storage providers,” with on or off switches next to them. Switch on any of these, and they will now appear in the sidebar.
