Part 3 in “How to Become a Computer Programmer”

If you do a quick Google search on “how to code,” you will find no short supply of resources. It can be rather daunting to see the thousands upon thousands of different videos, courses, articles, and books that promise to teach you the same thing. With so many things to choose from, what’s the best option?

I’ve learned quite a bit over the years by giving people varying resources to begin learning with. I have found that people often have the easiest time learning and sticking with coding if they begin by following an online course.

Why do an Online Course?

There are a few reasons I’ve found that courses work best for getting into programming.

First, when you start your journey in the software world, it can be easy to get confused on “what to learn next.” There is practically an endless amount of routes you can go down, and it can feel like you’re drowning in options. Courses provide a great structure that guide you from start to finish on what to learn as you go.
