How I Built 18 MVPs in 6 Months Using Cursor AI

--

I’m a coder who loves shipping products fast, but six months ago, I was drowning in messy code and half-baked apps.

Then I cracked the code — pun intended — on using Cursor AI to build 18 MVPs for clients without pulling my hair out.

It wasn’t magic; it was a system. A human system that works.

Here’s my workflow, with code snippets and hard-earned lessons.

The Problem: Coding with AI Can Be Chaotic

I’m hyped to use Cursor AI, thinking it’ll spit out perfect code like a vending machine. Wrong.

My first project was a disaster — folders all over the place, logic that broke faster than my old laptop, and layouts that looked like a toddler designed them. Cursor’s great, but without a plan, it’s like handing a paintbrush to a monkey.

I learned the hard way: AI needs guardrails. No amount of clever prompts fixes a lack of structure. So, I built a system to tame the beast, and it’s been my lifeline for 18 MVPs.

Step 1: Why Planning Beats Prompting

Before I type npm init, I map out the project like I’m sketching a road trip. Cursor’s smart, but it’s not psychic. Without a clear destination, it’ll drive you into a ditch.
