The secret to a successful day

Everyone knows of it, but not everyone does it. I promise, that if you do, your day will go from a lethargic mess, to a productive and organized filled 24 hours. The secret?…

Wake up at 5.30 am.

Why? Did you know that in the mornings we find it easier to concentrate due to the lack of distractions around us? We have more energy and are more efficient in tasks in the morning than later in the day. You have more time to plan your day, to prepare for the day and more time to feed your body the right foods in order to start the day. These are only a few, but the most important reasons for why waking up early is the best thing you can do each day.

Sure, it might seem crazy and possibly unrealistic for some (those who have young children for example) but even waking up an hour earlier than your normal wake up time can drastically change how you go about our day. Imagine having 20 minutes to sit with a cup of coffee in peace before the house wakes up, or to eat a nutritional packed breakfast whilst watching the sunrise. Perhaps 30 mins of exercise or more time to reply to your work emails?

I have been doing this for 2 and a half months now, and I can’t stress enough how beneficial it has been for me. I have found time to reflect on the day ahead, time to make a healthy breakfast and time to work on other projects I otherwise can’t during the day. But, it has also given me better quality of sleep as the earlier mornings require earlier nights!

Some of the most successful people such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, Creator of Goop and actress Gwyneth Paltrow and CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz are all early risers, proving that early mornings really are key to a successful day.
