Summer time is soon to be upon us and so is the need to create a fun and nostalgic playlist for all to enjoy. The continuation of favorite albums lies within this piece of full of memories. A piece that’s fun, memorable, and one full of musical suggestions to kick off those sweet sunshine vibes for sure!

7) On The 6: Jennifer Lopez (1999)

Before she was known throughout the world as J.LO, Jennifer Lopez was an actress looking to embark on her now long standing career as a recording artist/diva. On The 6 is a timeless 90s classic with hits such as: If You Had My Love, Waiting for Tonight, and Feelin’ So Good. I loved and still love this album! In my opinion, she isn’t the best singer, but J.LO is iconic regardless.

8) Back To Basics: Christina Aguilera (2006)

Christina Aguilera has come to be one of my favorite artists throughout the course of time. Back To Basics will always be a classic and a summer time must have in anyone’s collection. “Ain’t No Other Man” remains one of her most popular from this album. “Back In The Day” and “Hurt” are personal favorites. The 1930s and 1940s blues and jazz feel to this era of her music was genius. Christina is admirable for the time, effort, and true artistry she puts into her craft. The two part album has twenty two songs and it’s rather long, but all are worth a listen.

9) So Far So Good: Bryan Adams (1993)

Bryan Adams remains a classic in the music industry today. So Far So Good is an album I grew up on and it has always been a solid favorite throughout my life. “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” is a popular track. “Can’t Stop This Thing We Started” is a favorite.

10) Spiceworld: Spice Girls (1997)

Spiceworld is a movie any little girl who grew up in the 90s would remember with fond memories. The album of the same name served as a soundtrack of sorts to the film, which included cameos and tiny roles played by the likes of Alan Cumming, Elton John, Meatloaf, Hugh Laurie, and Richard E. Grant. The film featured the girls portraying fictionalized versions of themselves and it took the viewer through a week of what it was like to be a Spice Girl; all of the music from the album was featured in the movie. Surfing through the album sparks the replaying of the various movie scenes in my mind. The Spice Girls are still women to look up to today. They seem to have grown up to be sophisticated and classy, unlike the pop stars of today. “Do It” and “Spice Up Your Life” are memorable tunes. I like them all. I cannot pick a favorite; every song would breathe a bit of nostalgia to any person who grew up as a Spice Girl fan.

The past couple weeks has been all about having fun. Writing about albums I loved was a sweet and fun trip down memory lane. Please consider adding these to a summer playlist; they are sure to bring a fun time!
