A Better Canvas

I’ve tried to

erase my face

in second grade

to try to get

rid of the

mistake I wore everyday

a hideous skin

obliterated with hasty and harsh expressions

I wanted to

paint a new face

something colorful

and completely out of context

but my teacher threw

my painting away

and now

all I do is

erase
