First Love: A Poem

There’s no other feeling quite like this one.

You came into my life,

so unexpected a surprise.

I never would have guessed

just how much I would be blessed.

You never seem to stop

making my heart drop,

and proving me wrong-

my anxieties, the throng.

You stole my heart, I confess,

as gentle as a lover’s caress.

So never will you ever, I hope,

break my heart and leave me alone to mope.

For in my heart, I soar

- I love you more.
