Truth, she’s taken
and you are all alone
but she’s lived her life with you
and from that you should know
she’d die one thousand deaths
to give birth to you again
Lies, they told you
that the pain would subside
but she is your pain now
and if you lost that, you’d lose her
she’d be nothing but breath and foggy memories
left on the sidewalk, like fallen leaves
Real, no one is truly anything
but words in someone else’s book
and one day those words will fade
someone, somewhere may have a thought
and then a glint in their eye as they start to —
“Would you like another cup of tea, dear?”
“Ah yes. That would be lovely.”
