A poet’s take on forbidden romance.
In the dark, we keep
an eye out. Is someone
there? They cannot know.
Stay away, we giggle and run
away- hoping to never be found.
I want you. Forever.
A kiss, a smile
like a gentle wind on a summer’s
evening- so soft a caress.
Where do we go from
here? A touch, flutters to my stomach,
a sigh. They mustn’t find out.
In the dark, we keep
an eye out. They cannot know.
