I love waking up to the tune of Luis Miguel,
To the smell of my mother’s cafe, she drinks it in pajamas.
I love drinking, Corona, President, or Medalla
All cheap beers, but all taste like home.
It’s the reason I love where I’m from,
Latina, Hispanic, Caribbeña all in one.
From the way the R rolls of my tongue
To my hips and curls.
I wouldn’t change anything about home.
