Whatever you do, don’t fall in love

Whatever you do
don’t make a writer
fall in love with you
they’ll create
a grand poem
a million letters
out of
your eyes
put constellations
in their place
and how golden
brown
they are
in the sunset
by the beach
they’ll write
sonnets
even if they
hate rhyming
adding lovely
ending with honey
just to end up lonely
because if a writer
ever falls in love
with you
I swear
you’d fall in love
with yourself
with how beautiful
they dress you with
hushed stars
and falling lights
devil lips
neon laughter
wicked hair
teasing glances
even when you treat
them like
they’re nothing
