Joe Burrow sits with parents during the virtual 2020 NFL Draft as he finds out he has been selected by the Cincinnati Bengals

Former LSU starting quarterback and 2019 Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, was selected as the number one overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow led LSU to a national championship in his senior year in college and hopes to lead the Bengals to more success than they have had in the past during his career in the NFL.

Burrow, who was the top prospect leading up to the draft, led the nation in passing yards and touchdowns in his last year at LSU. The pick did not come as a surprise as Burrow was the number one pick in almost every single mock draft.

Many people refer to Burrow being the greatest LSU quarterback of all time and based off of his stats, that is probably true. He transferred from Ohio State in the beginning of his junior year and was named starting quarterback of the Tigers. Despite so much success in his senior year, Burrow did not put up the same numbers prior to that. But, after a year of playing in a new system, he evolved into what most people believe to be the best college quarterback of all time.

Now, with a guaranteed starting spot in the NFL with a new team, Burrow hopes to duplicate his success with a franchise that is in a rebuilding stage. To many Bengals fans, one of the best parts about Burrow being their star quarterback is that he is back home in Ohio where his football career started. Another thing fans should be impressed with is Burrow’s work ethic. He is always ready to hit the ground running and will do anything it takes to help his team get to the top.

Joe Burrow has all the qualities it takes to be one of the best, but all fans can do now is wait and see if all of his hard work pays off. It’s either boom or bust from here.
