“Someone make a play!”

There’s nothing that feels better than when someone on your team pulls off a heroic chain of events that you couldn’t have ever anticipated and comes out with a huge win in your favor.

It’s O’dell Beckham snagging that backward leaping one-handed catch. It’s a teammate in an Esports match fragging the entire other team in a clutch situation to win the round. It’s someone who isn’t designated to sales closing a new lead for your company that puts them way in the black.

I don’t want the rung of the mill colleague working with me ever. I want the playmakers, the people who will step up under stress, who will play harder when the chances are stacked against them. I want to be around people that make waves, construct them, engineer them, not just ride them.

Winners make plays, winners stake their claim and make it obvious why they belong where they are, and beyond. Winners turn the tides, run back the clock, and make the competition confused. Winners turn the doubtful into the doubtless, and electrify everyone around them.

We need winners, we need playmakers, everyone has the potential, everyone should try to seize it.

Learn to make a wave, instead of learning to ride one.
