Exactly When Was It That Saying “Luv Ya” Became So Prevalent

I much prefer good old “I love you”

I suppose if you were carving out the words “I love you” in the sand with either a stick or your big toe, you might be able to justify the savings in time and effort by going with the slang version. After all, the entire sentence may be gone anyhow in a short while, washed away by the incoming tide.
