A poster that is black background with white text that says Black Lives Matter.

We added a Black Lives Matter banner to all of Coforma’s social platforms to show our support for the Black community on the heels of George Floyd’s tragic murder and the violence in the events that have unfolded since. We extend our condolences to his family, to the families of Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, and to all who are grieving yet another unjust loss of precious life.

We don’t add these visual symbols as a mere nod at solidarity with the Black community in America. Like many others, we know too well the daily persistence of racism in this country and feel acutely the underlying, systemic effects of its relentless machinery. We also know that a better future is possible, so we work every day to eradicate and dismantle those systems. We strive to leave new, better, more equitable solutions in their place.

Coforma rejects the status quo. We believe in ethical solutions to wicked problems. We are not passive, but active. We are not complacent, but passionate. We will continue to stand firmly against racism, and to work toward freedom and equity for all. Action begets action; we’ve made a contribution to Black Lives Matter, if you’re in a position to do so, we encourage you to donate and get involved.

Resources

Here are a few other resources you may find useful in navigating an effective and safe approach to activism, support, and thought evolution on racism in America right now:
