From Thoughts To Pages: How journaling Can Transform your Life
….the power of journaling
“As we grow older, we become more aware of our thoughts and less aware of our feelings”.
Do we all agree that as we grow up, a once carefree mind, unburdened by worries, gradually becomes a dwelling place for fears, insecurities, and distracting thoughts?
This thought often leads to an inability to focus and sometimes depression.
I understand that we can't control our thoughts, but we can definitely control how we respond to them.
How do we control it?
Journaling! Journaling! Journaling!
Journaling has really been helpful to me since I embarked on a self-development journey.
It's my sanctuary in a wicked world; it became my therapist when I couldn't afford one. My journal is a place where I can vulnerably share my struggles without fear of criticism. A place where creativity flows without cost or constraints.
By committing my thoughts, feelings, and experiences to paper, I gained clarity, insight, and self-awareness, leading to internal growth.
If you also want to experience the beautiful feeling of journaling, then you should:
- Start small: you do not have to write an epistle as a beginner. Write anything that comes to mind without overthinking.
- Make it a habit: set aside 10/15 minutes to journal daily.
- Be honest. That’s why it’s called a “safe place.” You do not have to fake it for your therapist so write truthfully and authentically.
- Be consistent: The key to success is consistency; to get the best out of your journey, be consistent.
“Writing in a journal is a powerful way to clarify your thoughts, feelings, and desires." Oprah Winfery.
Stop overthinking and let your journal do that for you.
