User Experience 101
By Agustina Miguez, Senior UX Designer, Cognizant Softvision
As a UX designer, friends and family often ask me, “What exactly do you do?” Since the user experience discipline is fairly new, I find that many are unfamiliar with the profession. So, when I had the chance to speak at Programmers’ Week, Cognizant Softvision’s largest tech event, I knew that this was a great opportunity to introduce the field of UX design.
My goal was simple– give a presentation for two types of people. On one hand, I wanted to help those who don’t know anything about UX but wanted to learn about it. On the other, I thought it was important to craft my information toward individuals working on any other part of the creation of a product, such as QAs, developers, and business analysts.
Programmers’ Week presentations are free and open to viewers around the world, so it was an excellent way for people to access the knowledge that I wanted to share. Sessions are available to colleagues within Cognizant Softvision and to an external audience, giving me a global platform to inspire people to use technology as an ally. Since technology plays a fundamental role in our daily lives, perhaps we should consider how to use it for the betterment of our communities.
As a UX designer, I have the chance to use technology and creativity to create experiences that can make a positive impact. But, what exactly is UX design? Watch this presentation to find out:
