Last week, Our team settled on an solid App Idea — Decision Maker, aiming to help users end their decision-making-difficulty in wide range of topics. This week, we diverged and created individual paper prototypes. These valuable prototypes enabled us to draw inspiration that led to our final two prototypes.

Recombining seven prototypes into 2 solid prototypes can be a tedious job. We start the process by listening to advices from other teams. Here are some of the major advices we considered during our meeting:

  1. Our classmates expressed a preference towards simple and clear design
  2. They want to use the Dice (randomize) functionality at multiple pages
  3. The comment and sharing function were mentioned a lot, there seemed to be confusion on this part of our design

Later, our amazing group managed to come to an agreement within half an hour. We first came up with a general flowchart for our App and decided on enabling the user to access the “random” function at multiple stages (no login vs. login). Then, in order to maximize efficiency, we divided our group into half to design two distinct prototypes based on a few agreed differences shown below:

Major Differences between our Two Prototypes

The process went great. The two prototypes came out ready for the next step of testing.
